One common question that Chicken Pie Kitchen’s Head Chef, Chef Don Lim, has often been asked by apprentices is:
How do I pick the right display cabinets for displaying [my] freshly baked pies?

Picture this: You’ve spent hours baking the perfect pie.
The crust is flaky, the filling is oozing out just so… and now it’s time to show it off to the world!
But how?
The key is in choosing the right display cabinet. Here are a few things to keep in mind when making your cabinet decision. You can probably also think of it like a democracy choosing their cabinet, too.
Size Matters
The first thing you need to consider is the size of your display cabinet. You want something that’s large enough to accommodate all of your pies, but not so large that it takes up half your kitchen.
If you’re short on space, consider a wall-mounted cabinet or one with shelves that can be stacked on top of each other.
Location, Location, Location
Where you put your display cabinet is just as important as its size. You want somewhere that gets a lot of foot traffic, like near the entrance to your bakery or near the register. That way, everyone who comes in will see your mouth-watering pies and be tempted to buy one (or two, or three…).
Style Points
Last but not least, you want a display cabinet that fits with the overall aesthetic of your bakery. If you have a rustic vibe going on, look for a cabinet made of wood or metal. If you’re going for something more modern, try glass or acrylic.
And if you really want to make a statement, go for a brightly colored cabinet that will really stand out.
Picking the right display cabinet for your pies is important if you want to sell them! Keep these tips in mind when making your decision and you’ll be sure to find the perfect pie cabinet for your needs.
